Digital films, digital image processing, the internet: Since 1995 we have been dealing with the new technology and platforms in special annual programmes at the Hamburg International Short Film Festival. Initially in the Digital Video programme, then from 2000 at the Bitfilm Festival, which also offers workshops and symposiums on the subject of digitalisation. In 2004 under the title Virtual Light, we conclude with a retrospective on the subject. After ten years, the digital film is the rule, rather than the exception.
